Copperi

Luis Alberto Pérez Copperi was born Cienfuegos, Cuba (b.1973) where he still lives and works full time as an independent artist.  He studied at the Cienfuegos School of Visual Arts and has degrees in fine arts (from the Escuela Elemental de Artes Plásticas Rolando Escardó) and architecture (Universidad de Villa Clara).  Copperi has presented several solo exhibits and participated in many group shows in Cuba, had a solo show in Madrid, and participated in a group shows at the Cuban Art Space in New York and currently at the Westport Arts Center in Connecticut.  Copperi’s monochromatic drawings narrate his Cienfuegos world, one that is limited by the geography of Cuba but without psychological, political or spiritual limits.  His ideas are strong and sensual, yet presented with a gentleness that reflects his personality.  Copperi’s works are included in private collections in Cuba, Mexico, South America, the United States, Canada and Europe.
